The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Pension Plan Announces Leadership Transition

The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Pension Plan (“the Plan”) has announced the upcoming departure of Mr. Giosino Colaiacovo, who will be stepping down after six years of dedicated service to the Board of Trustees of the Plan.  He has been the Chairman since 26 April 2020, and his term officially expires on 14 May 2025.

Established on May 12, 1992, the Plan is a non-profit pension scheme committed to transparency and delivering competitive, conservatively risk-adjusted returns for its members. During Mr. Colaiacovo’s tenure, the Plan has upheld these values, consistently delivering stable performance and long-term security for its participants.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees and all our members, we express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Colaiacovo for his dedication and leadership,” said Mr. Richard Freeme, Chair-Elect of the Board of Trustees. “His strategic insight has been instrumental in strengthening the Plan’s foundation and driving its continued growth. We wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.”

Mr. Freeme, currently serving as Chair-Elect, will assume the role of Chair of the Board.

Looking ahead, the Plan remains firmly focused on its mission to provide members with a secure and dependable retirement solution, supported by sound governance, transparency, and prudent investment management.

“Our priority remains delivering outstanding service and long-term value to our members—ensuring they can retire with confidence and peace of mind,” said Mr. Freeme.

The Chamber of Commerce Council will be appointing a new trustee to fill the vacancy as a result of the departure of Mr. Colaiacovo from the Board of Trustees.  The full Board of Trustees will be announced to the membership via direct email communication.
